Parker County 

Know all men by these Presents That We M.W. and Sallie Barnett his wife for and in Consideration of Six hundred Dollars and 25 ($62500) to me Paid this day by G.F. Barnett and JM Barnett of Parker County Texas hereby sell bargain and convey to the said GF & J.M. Barnett all of the right title and interest we have and hold in the following described land belonging to the Estate of JJ Barnett and acquired by us as heirs of the said JJ Barnett deceased and by deed of Elizabeth Barnett dated July [?] 1882 Said Deed Conveying an undivided one half interest in said land [?] JN Barnett GF   and  James M Barnett and Mathew W Barnett the same being Elizabeth Barnetts interest in said land as the surviving widow of JJ Barnett deceased said land here conveyed is sale of our interest in and to Three hundred and fifty acres of the seven hundred and thirty Eight acre survey in the name of Robt W Coldwwell which said three hundred and fifty acres was own by said JJ Barnett and occupied as a homestead at the date of his death and is particularly descried in two deeds to JJ Barnett from MJ and MW Beavers One of said deeds bearing date March 2nd 1872. Conveying Three hundred acres recorded in Book No 4 Records of Parker Co Texas Pages 316 & 317 The other bearing date Dec 14th 1872 Conveying fifty acres recorded in Book No. 4. Records of Parker CoTexas Pages 317, 318 & 319. Said land is situated in Parker Co. Texas at the mouth of Patricks Creek. One [sic] the Brazos River and in consideration of the said Sum of Six hundred and 25 Dollars above mentioned we hereby warrant and defend unto the said GF Barnett and James M Barnett all the right title and interest we have or may acquire as heirs of said JJ Barnett and Elizabeth Barnett binding ourselves our heirs and assigns forever

Before me John W. Squyres a Notary Public of Parker County Personally appeared MW Barnett and Sallie C. Barnett his wife wife [sic] who resides at Park in Parker County Texas Parties to the foregoing attached Deed and Bill of Sale bearing date the 6 day of July 1883 both of whom are well known to me who acknowledged severally that they had signed sealed and delivered the same for the purposes and considerations therein stated and the said Sallie C Barnett having been examined by me privily and apart from her husband and having had the same fully explained to her she the said Sallie C Barnett acknowledged the same to be her act and deed and declared to me that she had willingly singned sealed and delivered the same of her own free will and accord without fear or compulsion on the part of her said Husband and that she wished not to retract it.  Witness my official seal and signature of my office in the town ofWeatherford this Sixth day of July 1883  LS

GH Burkitt and [too faint to read] Murphy of Anderson County, Texas forThree hundred and thirty [?] dollars to M.W. Barnett of Parker County, Texas a parcel of land in Parker County Texas known as
“survey No 2 Block A on the waters of Patricks Creek a Tributary of the Brazos River about 7 miles S. 50o W from Weatherford by virtue of land script No 5208 issued to International and Great Northern Railroad Company”
The land was patented to Burkitt and Murphy by Letter Patent No. 355 vol. 43 on 23rd of May 1877 and is described more fully as
“Beginning at the most Eastern S.E. Corner of the James Clayton original survey of 640 acres. Thence N 30 East with said Clayton SE Boundary line at 1391 varas to a stake for corner 36 varas S 30 W from a spring just East of said line: from which Corner is Live Oak in a ravine bears N 29 ½ East 2 3/10 vars. Thence S 60o East at 650 varas to a stake for corner on W. line of J.D. Rodgers Survey Thence S 30o West ¼ varas said Rodgers West corner. Thence S 60o East at 178 varas to C.L. boundary Bandys N. Corner. Thence S 30o West 278 varas to the East Corner of T.O. Conners Survey. Thence N 60o West at 672 varas the N. Corner of same. Thence S 30o West at 672 varas the said T.O. Conner West Corner. Thence N. 60o West 156 varas to the place of Beginning and containing 110 [?] acres of land.”
Burkitt and Murphy warrant title against “ every person lawfully claiming . . . the said or any part thereof.” [Signed] G.W. Burkitt and Daniel Murphy at Palestine Texas on 31 January 1884
